NEO BERLIN 2087

NEO BERLIN 2087 story and setting

Official copy for NEO BERLIN 2087 is a murder case dropped into a class-split Berlin. The year is 2087. A new wall divides the city. Nolan is told to find Natalie after the Police Chief dies. Everything below is taken from Elysium, Steam, and PlayStation, not from leak threads.

2087 and the technology split

Steam's about text opens on access, not on a chosen-one speech. In 2087, origin defines access to technology. The ruling class leans on the flashiest advancements. An ordinary person can only afford so many cyberparts. Outcasts live with malfunctioning machines that roam the land. A fault in robot programming gave some machines a life of their own. They attack humans on sight. The city claims it purged those failed experiments. The wastelands around the city tell another story.

That paragraph is the entire first-party economics lesson. Cyberparts are scarce for anyone outside the elite. Robots are not a cute companion layer; they are a leftover hazard. The studio does not publish a brand name for the robots, a corporation that built them, or a count of how many remain. Write those gaps as absence, not as mystery boxes with invented logos.

A new Berlin wall

Steam describes a new version of the Berlin walls. The rich rule from luxury inside. The walls shield them from harsh dystopian weather and from the rest of humanity fighting for resources. Settlements sit in the barren lands, each run by rivaling factions. PlayStation says the same thing with slums inside the picture: the poor fight for survival in the slums and in the deadly wasteland outside the new Berlin city walls.

Official stills make the sentence physical. One key image shows two people on a wet road looking at a fortress-scale industrial barrier, birds, cranes, and a Potsdamer Hbf sign. Another shows a POLIZEI vehicle and the television tower through rain. A third is a candle-lit mansion interior with tall windows, which matches the luxury-inside-the-wall line. The wall is not a metaphor in the marketing. It is architecture.

No official district map names those settlements. Do not turn 'rivaling factions' into a fake alignment chart. When Elysium names a faction, this page can grow a row. Until then the useful fact is the split itself: inside the wall, outside the wall, and machines in the waste.

The case Steam actually writes

Nolan is a ranking detective in the Neo Berlin Police Department. His job is to find and safeguard the Police Chief's daughter, Natalie, and to solve the sudden murder of her father. Steam says each step pulls him toward a conspiracy that can consume him and the city. When he meets Natalie, he learns their fates are more tightly bound than he assumed. Elysium's site uses the same pair of names and the same murder-plus-disappearance frame.

PlayStation adds the emotional list the trailers sell: justice, friendship, love, guilt, sacrifice, and betrayal. That is a theme list, not a spoiler. The studio has not published the killer's name, Natalie's location at the start of the game, or a chapter breakdown. A setting page should stop at the brief. The rest belongs in the game.

German Steam copy uses Ermittler for Nolan and keeps Natalie and Neo Berlin. Japanese short copy uses ノーラン and ネオ・ベルリン. Simplified Chinese uses 诺兰 and 新柏林. Those are storefront words for the same case, not separate plots.
